Center for Information Society Studies
What: "Issues in Media, Communication and the Internet," a series of events featuring nationally recognized media and public relations professionals discussing issues related to communication, globalization and the Internet.
Who: Sponsored by The Center for Information Society Studies
When: Monday, Dec. 11.
Noon to 1:15 p.m. "Objectivity and the Media: A Discussion," by Ann McDaniel, Newsweek managing editor and Washington bureau chief, and Dr. Robert M. Entman, NC State professor of communication and author.
1:30 to 2:30 p.m.: "Public Relations Crises," featuring Harlan Teller, executive vice president and director of worldwide corporate practice, Hill & Knowlton.
4 to 6 p.m. afternoon panel discussion, "Traditional Media Confront the New Media," with Paul Betz, managing editor of Oxford University Press; Anders Gyllenhaal, executive editor of The News & Observer; McDaniel and Teller.
6 to 7 p.m. reception.
Where: Caldwell Lounge on the ground floor of Caldwell Hall, located on the NC State campus off Hillsborough Street in Raleigh.
Cost: Free and open to the public.
