NC State Chemist Receives Packard Foundation Fellowship

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Dr. Daniel Feldheim, assistant professor of analytical and materials chemistry at NC State University, has been awarded a five-year fellowship worth $625,000 from the David and Lucile Packard Foundation.

Feldheim was one of 24 university researchers nationwide to receive Packard Foundation fellowships this year. The Packard Foundation administers one of the nation's largest nongovernmental programs of unrestricted grants to faculty members in science and engineering.

Feldheim will use his grant monies to conduct research on new methods for assembling nanoparticles into spatially and symmetrically defined arrays to establish collective nanoscale electronic behaviors.
