Discipline:
oceanography

Areas of Expertise:
geochemistry
atmospheric processes

Research Interests:
Professor Spivack is the Director of the Environmental Isotope Laboratory at the Center for Marine Science Research. Researchers at the laboratory are involved in a broad range of subjects within the general areas of environmental and marine geochemistry. A commonality of most of these projects is the high precision determination of isotopic ratios. Ongoing projects are concerned with the chemical evolution of the atmosphere and ocean, atmospheric chemistry (both natural and anthropogenic), sediment chemistry, marine hydrothermal systems, and the physical chemistry of anti-corrosion coatings.
